At the beginning, Salene arrives with Cloe, Patsy and Paul at the Mall. There, she falls in love with Bray, and they even kiss each other, but Bray finally chooses Amber. Salene is suffering from depression and self esteem issues which result in bulimia. Only by turning to Trudy and Ryan does she eventually overcome this.
Salene finds love with Ryan, becomes pregnant, and marries him. But times are hard. The Chosen rule the city and Salene lives in fear that she might lose her baby, because the Mall Rats get very little to eat. For this reason, Salene is convinced by May that it is best for her and the baby to become a member of the Chosen.
Though she originally joined the Chosen in order to get food, Salene becomes confused by their propaganda and when asked, frequently says she doesn't know what to think. Alice becomes particularly angry about Salene's status as a Chosen and they have an argument. Salene is walking away from Alice when she falls down some stairs and loses her baby. Meanwhile, Ryan is taken away. Very unhappy and confused, Salene falls in love with the Chosen, Luke, but he rejects her for Ellie.
After the Chosen are defeated, Salene becomes lost, and has problems trusting people again. KC trades for a horse, and taking care of the horse helps Salene regain some strength.
Salene hears that Ryan is alive and well and finding out his location she sets off to find him. She is unsuccessful. When she comes back to the Mall, she tells the others about her life and she has become quite a strong person.
After Bray's abduction, she becomes the leader of the Mall Rats and tries to stop people from being influenced by City Net, the TV program that the Technos invented.
Ram uses Salene for his plans and shows the people a film in which Salene tells the people how great the Technos are. Salene eventually becomes the leader of the city, although she has to bow down to Ram.
Salene falls in love with Pride and they develop a relationship together, which ends when he is killed by a Techno.
At the end of the show, she goes away with the other Mall Rats, to escape Mega's plan to blow the city up.

Dobra je Salene, ali je u ranijim epizodama bila malo naporna... kasnije je bolja...

To si upravu Ja sad gledam njene bulimicarske epizode ... puno smaraju.

juu da..ono kada neprestano jede..uff to mi se popelo na vrh glave...smorilo je.
a meni je u 2. sezoni jako lepa...bas bas se prolepsala...

Na kraju je najlepša... Sada mi je čudna kada je vidim sa naočarima i dugom kosom....

Da, baš izgleda čudno nekako. U 1. sezoni je baš nelijepa, da ne kažem ružna. U 5. se već stvarno proljepšala, a sad mi je nekako možda još ljepša, samo da je vidim bez tih naočala.

još mi je gore kad je ukrala ogrlicu od Zandre, pa htjela da je zamjeni za hranu...

jbg bulimija je to...obeca Ryanu da nece,pa opet...to je jedan od problema mladih koje je Tribe obradio...

Uf, kako me je samo nervirala u 1. sezoni... mrezela sam je! U stvari, jako retko mi je drago da je vidim na ekranu! Tako smara sa njenim kukanjem...

A meni je ona nekako još najbolja u 5. sezoni, ovo prije mi je bila više-manje bezveze, ali ok.

Ajde sad u 4. je ok, ali pre...

Ma u 4. mi je isto bila glupa kad vjeruje Prideu i May, a ovi joj iza leđa rade šta hoće. Isto mi je bilo i malo glupo što su Pride i ona bili zajedno jer su bili jedini ''odrasli'' tamo, pa je bilo ko da se igraju mame i tate.

Da, ali je svakako bolja nego u prvoj, drugoj pa čak i trećoj sezoni.
Barem se promenila u pozitivnom smislu.
